I found out about the death of a brother from my hometown earlier today. I first met him while I was waiting to leave for Boot Camp and he was just DEP'ing in. I didn't really know him well, but he was a brother nonetheless. He was killed in combat and left behind a wife and two young kids.
Rest In Peace, Brother, and keep those streets safe for us until we get there.
It really sucks when you know a lot of guys who have been in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan and see how it affects them when they come back, if they do. This war is tearing up a lot of good guys. Sometimes it makes you wonder if it has a reason. I'm not the one to say whether it does or not. I prefer to keep my politics to myself. But for me and my brothers, Tennyson said it best, "Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why. Theirs but to do and die".
